Since August 21st in Qingdao the initial price is 8Y.
Too many RICH Chinese bought cars now, so it has an increasing impact on the global oil price [China's oil demand grew by almost 16% in 2004], haha..it's not the only reason, but it's a fact.
Don't forget, the death of the King Fahd of Saudi Arabia on August 3..I guess the main reason however is that America [5% of the world population] is biggest consumer [one quarter of the global produce].
China's oil consumption per person is around one-fifteenth that of America.
Another reason for the northward movement of oil prices is speculation.

Mayo, I don't like taking taxi's but walking many kilometers in the rain is easier said than done.
Prices for everything in China are going up fast, taxi's are no different.
Also add the fact that oil prices are rocketing, and that's because there's only 40 years of oil left.
