Changsha to Zhangjiejia

Will appreciate it very much if someone can tell me how long does it take to travel from Changsha to Zhangjiajie overland (by coach).

I got the info online, it says the new highway between Changsha and Zhangjiajie opened to traffic in the beginning of this year(Feb), it takes only about 3.5 hours from Changsha to ZJJ overland. Anything else you need? Please post your questions here, we can keep searching. :P

The other info I appreciate getting is the weather condition in Zhangjiajie and the Three Gorges. I will be there from Sep 15 to 22.

GUEST31978 Four of us are coming to Changsha and tour the Zhangjiajie area. Should we hire a car and a driver in ZZZ or we can just do it by ourselves? We are active and healthy; how much time should we spend in ZZZ to take in the sights and raft on the river? Any hotel recommendations in Changsha and ZZZ? We are looking for good hotels in convenient locations. Two of us can speak Putonghua, not well but manage. :) I gather the best thing to do is to take the bus from Changsha to ZZZ. Is that correct? We will arrive in late October this year. Many thanks in advance for your troubles.

Zhangjiajie's initials, if any, should be ZJJ, not ZZZ!

GUEST51550, do you mean the buses leave from Changshai to Zhangjiajie?

You can go to Changsha West Bus Station (长沙汽车西站) to take the regular buses. It leaves every 1.5 hours. The bus ticket is around 108 RMB.
