Life in Harbin

GUEST66246 Hi,
I am thinking about coming to Harbin as a Foreign teacher. However, when I read the Smarttraveller website, it stated that terrorists are targeting foreign teachers and also that the death penalty applies if drugs are found on a person - not that I am a drug user, but if someone was able to place a small package in my bag without my noticing I would find it hard proving that the package was not mine.
That aside, the people of Harbin, and the city itself sound wonderful, and I am anxious to come over and experience it for myself.

GUEST16160 Hi guys! I had an offer to teach in HEU and although th offer is amazing, I'm not sure I want to go there... I live in beijing (for 2 years now) and I like it a lot BUT the offer I got from HEU is amazing and makes me think about it... Here are some questions: is there a place where you can buy western stuff? Something like D-mark in Beijing for example. Is there a place to convert rmb to euro or usd other than banks? Thanks guys!
