1st Week of January 2008- Not A Golden Week

I understand 3 days are set aside for a "mini Golden week" break - which are the 3 days set aside? Does it begin on 1st January or 2nd January 2008? In Singapore, we only have a day off on 1st January 2008 and report for work on the following day. Thank you Tien from Singapore
