Miranda, actually the pics of the shoes you posted do have heels. It's just that they are not where they are traditionally placed.
It looks like an assembly line worker fell asleep for a while or was high on something, :)
In a similar fashion, I wonder if a new line of jet airplanes with the wings mounted on the nose of the plane would take off?

Im an avid fan of high shoes platforms, wedges anything, i walk just fine in them, never fallen and No problems with my feet/legs/ankles at all. ve been wearing high shoes for 15 years now and at 30 i still love them! These shoes are fantastic, I have a pair of Marc Jacobs' surreal shoes and im a fan of Antonio Berardi catwalk. I dont care what they cost, each to their own, you only live once and i love my shoes. I dont just have one pair of these shoe type I have sevral and I love them!! Yay for fashion and the daring to try them!!

i think that they are great. if i had the money to waste of course ill buy it but i dont. plus its just a matter of time for people to get used to them. alot of people look at some fashion trends weird at the beggining but later on the months when everyone is wearing these shoes so will them.(if u can afford it once again.)
