Each nation has its national flower. For them, national flower has special meanings. For example, Netherland's national is tulip. It symbolizes sobriety, luxury and success. What is your national flower? Do you know its origin and special meaning?

Tulip---the national flower of Netherland.

Is rose the national flower of England. I heard a song Candle In the Wind. The first line of its lyrics is " goodbye, England Rose". The song was played to memorize Princess Diana. So I guess England's national flower is rose. I don't know why English regard rose as their national flower. Rose symbolizes love and passion. Does it have any special meaning as a national flower?

The rose was adopted over 500 years ago after the War of the Roses..ie between two groups frighting for the right to have their head as the King of England. The Lancashire mob from NW England had the white rose as its emblem and the Yorkshire mob in NE England had the red rose as its emblem. (I can't remember who won as I was only a little kid at the time, but I think the score was 3 goals to 1 !! )

No, it's the national flower of *England*. The other countries in Great Britain have their own national flowers.

As Apault's reply says (except he's got his red and white the wrong way round...), it's been the national flower for over 500 years. The heraldic English Rose is the tudor rose, usually with a red outer and white inner, but the other way round if necessary to follow heraldic rules on colour placement.

The US adopted the rose as its flower as well a few years ago.

Candle in the Wind might mention "England's rose" but it's still sentimentalising drivel

Canada doesn't have an national flower but each of its provinces and territories has one.

Canada has several national symbols though and the closest one to a flower is the Maple Leaf.
The maple leaf is featured all over Canada including its national flag and its currency.
