As a Pakistani, you will require a visa.

I have just been told that the maximum visa one can get from HK now, is double entry. Can anyone contradict this...or authoratively confirmn it?

i do not know where you from, but go back to your country and ask if your country give visa so easily. do not ever say that you bring money here, we do have troubles with so much money, i mean foreign currency. when you go back to your home, do not forget to ask if the chinese get a visa if he goes there with full pocket.
i do know a lot of chinese are much richer!

It's a late answer for GuestLaw...but yes you can get a multiple entry visa. However, a consulate issuing visas always how the power of discretion and may issue less than you ask for..
And in case anyone wonders, there is no problem bringing money into China in normal tourist amounts. Keep your exchange receipts so that you can change back again if you are lucky enough to have some left over.

I have been making enquiries about the difficulties being experienced in getting visas in HK, or generally outside your country of residence. It seems that there is now an official policy that some nationalities will not be given visas other than their home country. This is stated in a booklet in Chinese available in the visa offices. It seems that African countries and some others such as Pakistan are on this list. If you visit the 'African area' near Guangzhou main railway station you will find it is much depleted. Also, others will not be given such lengthy visas from outside their own country. Of course if you know thhe rright people.... !!!

Hi
I will be working in HK for 6 months with a working permit. Am I eligible to apply for multiple entry visa as it would be a hassle to get double entry every month to visit China?
