GUESTHELEN I assume you can't enter China with the visa on your old passport. If I am not wrong, the old passport will automatically expire after you got a new passport. It is better to apply for a new visa with your new passport.

|t is supposed to be possible to use a visa which is still valid but in an expired passport and you carry both..... I have never tried it and would be a bit wary so I suggest contacting your local Chinese visa issuing office (consulate)

You need to take the 2 passport enter China. At the custom, you need to ask the officer stamp the enter-stamp on your new passport to activate it.
