Simple words...

I'm not able to hear much Chinese first hand now, but occasionally I still do.

In Mandarin, one word keeps coming up all the time that I'd like to know the meaning of. It must be a very simple word.
It's pronounced: Jigga.

TIA

Thanks Bella!
Yes that must be it. "This" is used so often in the English language and I assume it must also be used very frequently in Chinese.

I was thinking of another word that I hear a lot too in Chinese.
I think it's pronounced 'Nigga'.
Perhaps it has a meaning similar to “这个(this…)” ?

TIA is a common abbreviation used in the west. It stands for (T)hanks (I)n (A)dvance. :)

But to answer your question, I visited Guangzhou for about five weeks and so I heard these words very often.
But I also watched CCTV which had quite a few Mandarin channels.
I much preferred the sound of Mandarin to Cantonese.

OK I'd like to clear this up then.
Is 'zhe ge' and 'na ge' used in Cantonese or Mandarin?
