Applying for Chinese Visa from Hungary
Sep 1, 2014 12:52
guest15869 Hello,

I'm currently traveling around the world and will be visiting Budapest in Mid-September for a week. It will be my longest stay in a city, so I was hoping to get my visa processed. I am planning to go to China sometime in November. I am a US citizen. Can I apply for a Chinese visa in Budapest?

Thanks.

You can try to apply in Budapest. But I am afraid that you may not get it successfully. According to Chinese embassy, those who apply in the third countries should provide their residence permit for employment and study or valid visa. You may call Chinese embassy to confirm this.

If you have time, please apply in the US. Your trip won't be spoiled if you have the visa in hands. If you fail to apply in Budapest, your whole itinerary might be affected.

You have 99 percent chance to be rejected. Unless you stay in a third country long enough like studying there for at least 1 year or working, you will be denied a visa if you simply go there for a short time trip.
