China Visa for 3 days only

From my country i don't need visa for China, but unfortunately my boyfriend is from Italy, and he needs a visa for China. We will meet in Dubai, and then from Dubai we want to visit China, Guangzhou for 3 days only and then came back to Dubai and fly to Malaysia. Does he requires a visa for 3 days in Guangzhou ?

Thanks to revert back quick as our flight is for soon :(

GUESTLISA Hey, he isn't eligible for 72 hours free transit because your departure place and final destination is the same city, Dubai. If you fly from Dubai to Guangzhou and then fly to HK and your total transit hours is less than 72 hours,he can apply for 72 hours free transit in Guangzhou.
