GUESTSOURCE I've always been given 60days on each entry on an 'F' visa to China. But I've heard that some people got only 30days at entry. Extension to the stay is allowed and needs to be applied for locally before your stay expires.

Well, it's really hard to tell. The consular officers give you duration of stay according to the materials you provide. Usuall, it can be 30 days. However, some applicants say that they get 180 days. When they entered, they are require to apply for the resident permits.
