Cost of Living in Nanjing
Jul 3, 2015 03:51
guestUmairBasra Hi there,

I have been offered a PhD scholarship in Nanjing Agriculture Unversity . The apartment/on campus living is paid for, all matriculation and tuition, health insurance included, and the tax-free stipend is 3500 RMB.

Can you help me find out here... if could I reasonably live there with this amount per month ?.

I'm not familiar with the cost of living in Nanjing and need some info.

Also should I purchase a laptop in China or bring one from home ?

Cities here are in levels or groups. !st tier are the largest and most expensive. Nanjing is a 1st tier city though not as expensive as Beijing/Shanghai/Shenzhen.
It seems you have to pay for transportation/food/utilities. Food at the university should be cheap, and there are many student eateries.
Bus and subway travel is cheap
You can control your utilities.

Laptops are cheaper in HK.
