Chinese visa Almaty?

Does anyone know whether it is possible to get a Chinese visa in Almaty, Kazakhstan?!

We have arrived here to apply but read the consulate is not accepting applications

I am British and my friend is German.

Can anyone help?

GUEST70345 Wood, some Chinese embassies require the applicants who don't apply in their own countries to provide the long term resident permits. If you don't have it, then the embassy doesn't take your application.

I think you may go to HK and apply there. Although the authorities in HK require the applicants to provide their valid HK resident status, there are some guys from UK, USA and some other developed countries still got their L types. So you might go there to make a try.
