The picture caption is "Busy Bang Bang blokes!"

Is this what the foreigners in Chong Qing call the porters ("stick men") pictured above?

I understand what "busy" & "blokes" (men) are. But, is "Bang Bang" the noise they make?

I have seen women carry these "sticks" in other parts of China. Don't the women do this as well in Chong Qing?

I meant like in old empirial times, not people.

Yeah, you see them on every corner in the harbour or the city. When I carried a big wooden buddha from the old market they all offered their service......even though it is their way of earning money, I didnt want them to carry it while I walk next to them with nothing in my hands. Gives me a bad feeling like old empirial people. The same with rickshaws(not in CQ). When you see the heavy tourist in the back and a skinny cyclist in front doing the job...I dont know. I did that with a friend, but would have been better to put the rider in the back and doing the cycling myself.
But I have to tell myself it is their job, so you actually support them if you use their service.
