For the information of all TCG members. The Hall of Supreme Harmony ( Taihedian) and Palace of Heavenly Purity (Qianqinggong) in the Forbidden City are presently under restoration/renovation from Nov 2005 till 2008 in time for the Olympics. This is the biggest overhaul to the F.C. since the 1911 Revolution.The info is obtained from People's Daily dated 14 November 2003

I was there in August at the Forbidden City and was a little disappointed that much of the place is off limits because of the restoration but it is necessary so we just have to put up with it.

It would be nice if they charged less for the entrance fee. Same goes for the Temple of Heaven where the Echo Wall, which I really wanted to visit again was closed with no reduction in the entrance fee.
