What's wrong with US tennis?

Looking at today's tennis arena, you might find that US tennis players are not as good as their predecessors, such as Jimmy Connors, John Patrick McEnroe, Billie Jean King and Sampras. Roddick, William Sisters and Blake Brothers still fight on the court but their glory is gradually disappearing. On contrary, those who are from Switzerland, Belgium, Russia, Serbia and Spain perform better. What happened to US tennis?

Perhaps, Americans just focus basketball and baseball and ignore tennis. It is true that many tennis talens are from Switzerland, Belgium, Russia, Serbia and Spain, such as Federer, Henin, Sharapova, Djokovic and Nadal.
