 | A painter employs her daughter to be a nude model for his oil painting. The father said his daughter is a oriental goddess in his eyes. The oil painting “ Oriental Goddess” was exhibited in an art expo. After the oil painting was exhibited, it caused fierce criticism and controversy. Millions of net users said it was against ethic and morality. The father and daughter said they were pure-minded. The daughter said she would only be a nude model in her father’s oil painting. She will not be a mannequin for any other artist. She said she knew his father well and he was a straight man. What do you think of this? The girl  |

| GUESTSOPHIE | I am an art student and have atually posed nude myself. I think if the girl is happy and confident then this is ok to do. We are not shown any of the poses so can only assume they are artistic and in good taste. I only ever posed for our small group at college and wouldnt do nude modeling anywhere else so our situation is similar. |

| Well to be honest, the painting is nice. The girl in real life looks pretty as well. But somehow it doesn't feel good that the father sees his own daughter naked. |

| Meteor, This is a good posting but I am not targeting you. Quote: "millions of net users said it was against ethic and morality" Millions?? You mean to tell me that "The millions" not one of them are immoral in some context ! We all are!! I do not condone what the artist is doing, thats just my thought.. but the point here is that the "millions" want to throw everything else out that is immoral or unethical like trading the truth for a lie. (incestuous and abnormal relationships, carousing, cheating on a spouse, corruption, prostituting young children..etc. and so on ! You get one painter.....One! and now everyone is crying fowl,,,,but forget the other stuff because some will say "thats the way society is" Take the plank of wood out of your own eye first before you try to remove the speck out of the other persons eye !! |

| We are ordinary people not God. The critics or the crying fowls themselves are vicous peepers into hole and to-be- practiioners of the things they are critisizing on once they catch the chance. Nudity arts is no pornography. However, I believe the crying fowls as peepers with the eyes of prostitutes's clients are incapable of seeing the difference. Most of us are peepers, few people except big guys can keep cooled in this crazy material world. And I believe there would be different reactions to this between west and east. The west is much closer to nature in terms of views of sex, life and social structures and has much more knowledge/civilized views on human nature which is reflected in Freud's philosophy. So It's no wonder that u can say Asian men are much more salacious althoughthey look not sexy and appears stiff. |

| Maybe I am old school, but I think a line must be always drawn somewhere, because if all morality is a line drawn in water the morality will not exist. Art has always crossed lines and it has not been only good thing to do. Carlos |

| The inference from the Moral lobby is that because the artist is painting his daughter in the nude he must also be having sex with her. Does this then also apply to all artists who paint any one naked? as they must all be, by association, moral degenerates. Some members of the “Woman’s lobby” in the west would have us believe that no male is capable of controlling his lustful thoughts around children; including his own. So does nakedness equal evil? Many religions preach that is one and the same. Perhaps the underlining fact is that subconsciously, the artist’s protractors believe that, in the same position they would surrender to the evil that is lurking just below the surface.
