![]() | I thought about this question for a long time after I witnessed Brazil and Argentina lost their games at South Africa World Cup. Dunga and Maradona were good football players. But they might not be good coaches. After losing to Netherlands, Dunga announced that he would resign his position of Brazil national team’s coach. Brazil’s failure has been discussed heatedly. Who should be largely responsible for this? The media said “Dunga”. Dunga was so stubborn that he refused to take Adriano, Ronaldinho and some other experienced footballers. Sometimes, you have to rely on those experienced guys. By the way, it is said that Dunga has taken bribes from the football players who want to play for Brazil national team. This is an open secret. Maradona is too conceited. Argentina played well in previous matches. Thus, he required all the reporters who once criticized him to make an apology. For sure, most people believed that Argentina would win the game. But the result was surprising. At the news conference, Maradona also implied that he would resign. What do you think? A good football player can be a good coach? |

![]() | Being a good coach takes more than a good player. For example Loew has not been any kind of a top player, but as a coach he is very analytic and he uses his players brightly. Louis Van Gaal goes to same gathegory, I think he is one of the all-time best coaches though he never was too good player. On the other side, Johann Cruyff was one of the best both as a player and coach, especially in FC Barcelona. About Maradona, he really could create a team spirit, but the plain truth is that the argentinian defence was not too good. As long as Argentina could keep the play in the enemy side all was ok, but like the match with Germany showed, Argentinas defence line was quite vulnerable, so either Diego did choose wrong men or there simply was no better ones. ![]() | This topic is very interesting. Not long ago, British media said that David Beckham wants to be the coach of England national team. He is the spirit leader of England. See, he was the assistant coach of England team. David once successfully resolved a crisis in England team. Gerrard and Terry fell into conflict. They both wanted to be the captain but the coach let Gerrard be the captain and Terry wasn't happy about this. They almost fought. It was David Beckham who made them calm down. Thus, some people support David Beckham to replace Capello. However, David Beckham finally made it clear that his football career as a footballer hadn't finished. He would enjoy the time he played on the playground. More importantly, he didn't have a coach certificate yet. |

![]() | A good football player can play football very well but he/she may not coach the team very well. Of course some excelent football players coached their teams very well after they changed into coaches like Rijkaard. |

![]() | David Beckham is very smart. I don't want to see him abused by the football players like the French coach. |
