Hi people,
I am from UK and am traveling to Beijing to make business..at the same time i would like to retain my UK number in China in order to be in touch with a few of my customers here..But i have heard from some people that sometimes the calls do not get connected while roaming in China..i would not like this to happen to me..so if there is any solution please let me know..

You can use your UK number in China. But the price is very high as you said. I think that you need consult with your cellphone service provider about this. Your cellphone service provider should have a partner in China. And you should call your partner (China Mobile or China Unicom) to see if it charges roaming fee.
