In Dec 2010 I was in Beijing, the temperature was -15C but no snow. Still a friend of mine, who held a Malay Study Chair at BFSU always came to see me. He took a bus from Haidian district to Xuanwu.

-15C? Can't imagine how cold it is because I haven't been to such a place. When I was young, the snow fell frequently winter. Now, it seldom snows in Xian.

Hopefully this fourth week of December the weather not so cold, and on Christmas Day I will be in Shanghai. My last in China was September, and Guangzhou was quite warm.

Shanghai is in Southern China. It is not as much cold as other cities in northern China.

Usually I just wear thermal clothing, outer shirt, woolen military-like head cover, muffler and gloves. I'm not that young like I used to be. Harbin is colder.

Harbin is so damn cold. But I haven't been there. Wan, I actually want to have a trip to Harbin in winter. The ice sculptures and snow are attractive.
