Today, more and more people or companies buy products from companies in China over the internet. Unfortunately, scammers take advantage of the occasion to rip off unsuspecting shoppers. They can pretend to be selling a product, but when you pay all the money for the products, they don’t deliver the products to you. Sometimes, they maybe set another trap for you by making up some lies. Thus, you may fall into the trap another time in order to get the products you bought. The following are some signs that the seller may be a scammer. 1. The seller insists on immediate and full payment, or payment by electronic funds transfer or a wire service. 2. The online shopping website does not provide adequate information about privacy, terms and conditions of use, dispute resolution or contact details. 3. The manufacturer or seller you found over the internet does not disclose its own detailed company address, contact telephone number (not cell phone), and so on. So how should you protect yourself from online shopping scams? First, you should have the common sense: the seller may be a scammer. Second, be suspicious of online shopping websites that do not give their full contact details (physical or street address as well as fixed-line phone and fax numbers). Third, find out exactly who you are dealing with and investigate the due diligence and reputation of the seller before shopping online. Due diligence is a program of critical analysis that companies undertake prior to making business decisions in such areas as corporate mergers/acquisitions or major product purchases/sales. The due diligence process, whether outsourced or executed in-house, is in essence an attempt to provide business owners and managers with reliable and complete background information on proposed business deals so that they can make informed decisions about whether to go forward with the business action. So, an efficient due diligence process can save companies from making costly mistakes that may have profound consequences for the firm's other operational areas and/or its corporate reputation。
