To be a Columnist of China Travel Community, Columnists Application

The Search is on for TravelChinaGuide Community Columnists.

Have you visited China and, having savoured its unique splendors? Would like to share something of your experiences with others? Or, maybe you have lived here for some time? Then doubtless you will have many reminiscences of places, people, our culture or cuisine that could be the basis of interesting articles for our on-line Community.

Here at TravelChinaGuide Community (hereinafter referred to as TCG Community) we are looking for Columnists who would like to make a contribution to our site. It is not necessary to be a native English speaker, what is important is the fact that you have some interesting experiences or stories to share.

The TCG Community Promise:
TCG Community is offering to make payments for articles commensurate with their content, length and quality of language skills as well as other aspects of the compositions. The amount, intervals and manner of such payments will be negotiated on an individual basis by TCG Community with the Columnist.

Requirements for Columnist status:
Have visited at least five cities or places of interest in China.

Have a reasonable command of written English.

Agree to submit articles on a regular basis within a time span agreed between both parties.

All articles submitted to be new and original works that have not been published elsewhere and will not have other subsequent publication.

No article will be accepted if it violates Chinese laws or regulations, contains racial or religious discrimination, displays any political bias, is in any manner defamatory or advertises either goods or services.

All articles will conform to the TCG Community User Agreement and the Terms of Use of TCG.

The provision of true and valid personal data to TCG

Rights of TCG Community:
TCG Community reserves the right to withdraw Columnist status as follows:

No new articles are submitted within any agreed time span unless a convincing explanation is forthcoming.

The articles prove to be other than new and original.

It is brought to our knowledge that the work has been or is intended to be duplicated elsewhere.

Following any deliberate discrepancy in personal data.

In the event of any or all of the above violations TCG Community reserves the right to claw back any payments made and no payment shall be made in respect of work submitted and for which payment is otherwise outstanding. In the event of duplication, the work will be removed immediately. Note that TCG Community will employ all legal means at its disposal in order to protect its interests.

TCG Community reserves the right to publish articles in other media at its own discretion and to edit such articles subject to the condition that the author's original intent remains unaltered.

TCG Community reserves the right to request pieces are written in accordance with the list of places stated by the Columnist as the basis of his/her appointment.

TCG Community will not be held responsible for payment in respect of any article that fails to meet expected standards of either content or presentation.

Method of Application:
Register as a member of TCG Community if you have not already done so. Please be sure to leave a valid email address for future contact. Join us for free .

Post a China travel related article consisting of no more than 1,000 words in the TCG Community Travel review Column. [Refer to Community Help for operation details or send a message to Christine].

The title of your article should be preceded by the symbol <C> as this will indicate that it is to be considered in this connection.

Submit an application form to CHRISTINE via a personal message in the Community when publishing your article. The application shall include:
Your real name
Nationality
Your present city/town of domicile
A list of Chinese cities/places you have visited
Your address in order that you may be contacted (i.e. email address, telephone number and home or office address).

Appointment as Columnist:
After receiving both the initial article and the relevant personal details a decision will be made as to your acceptance and you will receive an acknowledgement by email within five working days.

Formal appointment will be decided once we have received and considered your four remaining articles for publication (your first submission via the Community site making up the total of five); at which time we shall email you again in order to discuss other details.
