Awesome Chinese food!
By FRIBDOLL | 4/13/2008 3:04:18 AM
In the small city of Korla in Xinjiang province there is some great food to be found! An absolute MUST is the multi-level Bei Yuan Chun restaurant. The food is fabulous and the wine list is mind boggling. There are some pictures, but no English menu. Another great place to eat is the Hong Rui Hotel, third floor. Again, no English menu, but some fantastic Chinese food. The local mutton skewers are roasted with all kinds of spices and are to die for!

The Texas Cafe in Urumqi
By TEXASONTHESILKROAD | 4/2/2007 12:33:09 PM
There is a great little Tex-Mex restaurant owned by expats in Urumqi called The Texas Cafe. Its on a bustling back alley with a grapevine covered pavilion and awesome food. You can find it across Renmin Road from the Computer Market or call them at (991) 281-0025. Its right between ErDaoQiao and the People's Square.

Xinjiang Kebabs
By DEE0228 | 1/7/2005 6:01:30 PM
Xinjiang Kebabs are really delicious snacks which have flavorful aftertaste that lingers. Kebabs are made of chunks of roasted mutton with crispy outside and tender inside. They are not oily and have no unpleasant smell. You can easily find this kind of delicacy on the streets and bazaars throughout Xinjiang.
