GUESTMARIE Hello Ellyse, I am traveling between Shanghai and Guangzhou. I believe a flight is more practical, I was wondering about accommodations for the night during the Canton Fair April 17 & 18.
Thank You

Yes, flying is more practical as the train would take at least almost 16 hours.
I might be able to help with accommodation.
If you need help with anything, email me at yahoo.com|ellyse99 and put "TravelChinaGuide" and your own username in the subject line.

The latest train to depart is T99 at 1824. Incidentally it's also the fastest option and does have soft sleepers as well.
There's no official online ticketing for China's trains. If you need help pre-buying tickets, email to yahoo.com|ellyse99 and put "TravelChinaGuide" and your own username in the subject line.

The tickets are stopped selling when the check-in stops, usually 3-5 minutes before the train leaves. But the thing is there will be no seat or sleeper tickets left this time, unless you want to stand all the way from Shanghai to Guangzhou.
