I have travelled to China twice to adopt our daughters. On my first trip, I traveled to the cities of Guangzhou (where we only got to go sightseeing at the zoo which is fabulaous) and Zhanjiang where we did little touring because of a typhoon hittng the city.
For my second adoption trip, I decided to go sightseeing before receiving our new daughter. I stayed at the Capital Hotel in Beijing which was beautiful and hit all of the sights there- the Great Wall, Forbidden City, Summer Palace, Ming Tombs, Traditional Medicine Institute, Tianeman Square etc. and enjoyed them immensely. I also spent two days in Hong Kong which I enjoyed but seeing the TerraCotta Soldiers in Xi'an was the high point of my trip (next to receiving my daughter!) Of all the places I have been, nothing was as incredible as this sight!
I hope to return to China to adopt again and hope I am able to once again visit Xi'an- it is more than worth a second trip!
