I spent three days in Zhangjiajie in October: two days in the Forest Park and one day for Tianmen Mountain. Here comes the conclusion: Yuanjiajie is the best with Hallelujah Mountain, followed by Yangjiajie and Tianzi Mountain, Huangshizhai is average, Gold Whip Stream is a must-go hiking place, and the Ten-Mile Gallery isn't worth spending too much time on; you can skip it if you have a tight schedule. Tianmen Mountain is actually a separate one outside the park which needs another entrance ticket. Although the park is massive with scattered scenic spots, it's crowded even on weekdays, so be mentally prepared before going.

Reviews & Personal Ratings
No. 1 Yuanjiajie
where Avatar Hallelujah Mountain is located! This one can be toured effortlessly. And the numerous peaks are rather sublime and mind-blowing. The official visiting route is well-designed and saves your energy.

No. 2 Yangjiajie
A more in-depth exploration requires physical fitness, and the Natural Great Wall is top-notch. If you have good extra strength after that, you should definitely visit the highest peak, One Step to Heaven, truly breathtaking.

No. 3 Tianzi Mountain
Tianzi Mountain is the most mediocre one in the entire park. Yubi Peak deserves a visit. There are two other spots next to Tianzi Mountain: Commanding Generals Deck and Shentang Bay. Commanding Generals Deck is, in my opinion, the best scenic spot in the entire park, almost without exception. However, it is located quite far away.

No. 5 Golden Whip Stream
I gave one day to Huangshi Village and Golden Whip Stream. I have seen many recommending Golden Whip Stream hiking before going. It didn't disappoint me. The whole route is surrounded by trees, streams and stones, with super fresh and wet air.

No. 4
Tianmen Mountain
I have experienced the world's longest cableway which can be boarded from downtown and directly goes to the summit. The panoramic view is great but what I was more shocked by was the glass plank road as I didn't have time for the famous thrilling Grand Canyon (another attraction outside the park), it's a kind of a replacement. Tianmen Cave is the best for photography, and I saw professional photography equipment there.

Suggestions
1. Zhangjiajie is a small city, and the airport is close to the main urban area, so you don't need to struggle to choose hotels. Taxis to attractions are generally affordable.

2. The national forest park is indeed very large. It's a little rushed to explore for two days. If you want to explore it in depth, at least give it three days.

3. Always check the weather forecast before going to Tianmen Mountain. If it's raining or foggy, you'll see almost nothing.

4. If you've already booked your trip and then find out the weather is bad, I suggest buying a package ticket of multi-trip three cableways + Bailong Elevator. If you come across bad weather, you can immediately change your itinerary by taking the fast cableways or elevator and save the sunny time for the most anticipated attractions.
