Took a bus to Shanhaiguan. Really touristy place, greedy touts are everywhere on the streets. Did not have a good time.

Visited various places during the weekends including Gugong, trekking from Jishanlin to Gubeikou great wall, Macro Polo bridge and Badaling great wall. And, I bought a bicycle for transport!

Took a train with my roommate to Tai'an and climbed Taishan overnight. Rather disappointed with how commercialised Taishan is. Later took a train to Qufu and visited Konglin and Kongfu. My favourite is Konglin. Couldn't get a sleeper ticket back to Bejing and had to sleep in the train's restaurant.

Took an overnight train with a friend to Datong in Shanxi. It was freezing cold! The cab driver told us it's sub -20 degrees! Climbed Hengshan and visited Yungang Shiku. Hengshan, encapped in snow, is very beautiful.

Tianjin

Together with some flatmates, we took off to Tianjin. It was our maiden train ride in China. In Tianjin, we visited culture street, food street and the TV tower. We couldn't believe accomodations for all 3 people could be as cheap as 50RMB. The next morning, we took a train to Jixian and climbed Panshan. In the evening, we took a bus back to Beijing.

Arrived in Beijing for work and study programme. But I took the opportunity to tour around during weekends. Trekked from Jinshanling to Simatai great wall and also visited Tiananmen, Longtan Miaohui during Chinese New Year, skiing resort, hotspring, Quanjude restaurant and various parts of the city with my friends.
