<A> Qingming Shanghe Yuan

The painting, "Riverside Scene At Qingming Festival “, by Zhang Zeduan of the Northern Song Dynasty, depicts the Kaifeng city in amazing details, offering an insight into the society of the day. The Qingming Riverside Scene Garden was arranged according to the original layout of the painting, depicting a full picture of the strong local flavor of the ancient capital, Kaifeng city.Over 20 performances are presented periodically such as Lord Bao greeting visitors, Lord Bao’s Inspecting Trip, an Emperor’s Royal Trip, Landlord Wang Recruiting son-in-law, Disturbance of the Execution Ground, Wedding in the Song Dynasty style, Dance, Royal Exams and Qigong performance etc. The garden also provides costumes and currency of the Northern Song style for tourists to enjoy the real life and social customs of those ancient times.

The architectures in the Millennium City are simple and elegant with beautiful scenic environment. There are many interesting spots in the garden.The 3800m-long Bian River with green water flows through the garden. The Rainbow Bridge across the Bian River is a well-known feature in the Garden. Listed as one of the ten famous bridges in China, the bridge is 5 meters (about 16 feet) high, with four 9 meter (about 29 feet) high columns, two at either end of the bridge. At the top of each column sits a white crane, which turns in the wind, indicating the wind direction.
