Fuzhou, capital city of Fujian Province, is also known as the city of Banyan, because of the numerous Banyan trees planted in the city.
The location of Fujian, almost detached from central China, helps to preserve its unique Min Culture (Min is the short form for Fujian).
Personally, I prefer this medium city to most other cities in China. It is a cozy and peaceful place, where you can enjoy life leisurely. Delicacies like xianmian, guobian, sea food are not too expensive but very tasty. I miss all the dishes so much!!! Snacks include preserved olives, dried potato, etc. Also jasmine tea here is also famous.
To me, it would be best to take a walk around the city in a rainy day, roaming around the old lanes, where famous people used to live.
Places of interested include West Lake Park and West Zen Temple, which is the oldest existing wooden temple in South China. One of the highlights is Minjiang River Night Cruise. Only that the boat is not so luxury as those of Pearl River Night Cruise.
This is a city you need to live at least for one month to taste its elegance, its peace and uniqueness.

Hot spring in the mountains are magnificent, it's so beautiful sitting in the spa looking across the mountains and climbing up
