I have heard and been told of the many problems with pickpockets.I never carry my wallet and only carry my cash in my front pockets.I only had one time that someone tried to pick my pocket and it was a little child working with his parents,once the child had his hand in my pocket I picked him up,walked over to his parents,set him down in front of them! "BUSTED!!" They were in very much of a hurry to get away from where I was at:)Seems Police in English is very well understood in Chinese!
Oh..about carrying your money in both front pockets..it works good when you are barttering to buy something,reach in the pocket with just a little money and say it is all you have,worked a few times for me:)
