My wife and I took part in a three week elder hostel tour of China and Outer-Mongolia in 2006. It was one of the highlights of my life. Of all the lasting images of ancient and super-modern China, The Thousand-Buddha cave complex near Dunhuang lingers as far more than an outstanding art 'extravaganza'. It also reflected, for me, the anchient confluence of both Buddhist & Hindu philosophy which, today, is validated in what contemporary quantum physics and the studies of consciousness now reveal. It really is possible to think such things without taking the fun out of being there.
