Xian is lovely and full of historic places.  There's just one thing that turned me off.  When we went to the city wall, there were no elevators or escalators.  My mother was in a wheelchair and my father can't walk for a long time.  The tour bus dropped us off there and since they could not manage to climb the stairs, there was no other way to go to the next tour destination but to go out and walk the circumference of the wall. At first, the tour guide and my parents tried to take a taxi (since our bus had left us already) but the taxis were not stopping.  They had to cross several lanes of traffic to get to the other side, only to find out the taxis were not stopping there either. No traffic lights and my dad walks slowly. Just imagine the horror!
My suggestion, please make the City Wall accessible also to elderly people. Thank you.
