On our first day we decided to visit the SongZanlin Monastery, and we took Bus # 3, 1 stop before the monastery, a man dressed in military uniform (which was fake) came in and picked all of the foreigners to get off the bus. He said we had to buy a ticket, which was 100 RMB. However, everyone who looked Chinese even the tourists got to keep going to the monastery. We decided to go on a walk instead and a guard radioed in another guard who came and started pushing us, yelling at us that we couldn't walk and we had to pay.

Chinese people who are obviously tourists were not bothered but if you look like you are a foreigner, they make you pay.

WHAT A SHAME!!!!

This monastery is supposed to be a place of worship, I don't mind giving donations. But to discriminate against foreigners and make them pay money is terrible.

What's worst is that the monastery doesn't even receive any of this money they are charging. I recommended for people to skip this place.
