Yungang caves

The Yungang caves are built in the 5th century AD. The 252 caves and niches have 51.000 statues. These caves represent the best examples of Buddhist cave-art in China.
To come there, we took bus number 15 to its end station. And from here bus number 3 also to its end station. After a short walk ahead the caves are at the right hand.
It was nice, the conductor of the local number three bus, speaking in Chinese, welcomed us, the Dutch guests, travelling today in her bus.
So we felt very welcome our first day in Datong and China.
