Old Dragon's Head, Shanhaiguan

This is a huge wok, big enough to cook an elephant, that was used to prepare zhou (congee rice porridge) for soldiers stationed at Shanhaiguan

It's no exaggeration! With this wok, you have to walk down the stairs to get to the small room where you light the fire to warm it! If I stood at the bottom of that wok, I couldn't reach the bars above it!

This is really a big wok, but I know that you are making an exaggeration. I still remember that when I was ten years old I saw a big wok (not as big as this one, but almost) in one house in my village. At that time people told me that it was used to make bean curd.
