The chimeras on the ridge are placed there to protect the occupants and the building. Made up of the mytical creatures like dragons,phoenix, lions, heavenly steed,sea horse, Suanni,Yayu, Xiezhi, Douniu and Hangshi with the immortal on the phoenix back taking the lead (the 1st one on the right).The immortal is the image of the cruel King named Min of the Qi kingdom now made to suffer under the scorching sun and the freezing cold.
