We're both from Boston, been around the world a time or two, and expect this sort of thing - "nice" people taking advantage of the American. There are millions of nice people that truly want to help and meet Americans...but it's the other "nice" people that ruin it for us. Just watch out - tea with strangers is just that: tea with strangers! 2250 yuan is insane!
