>>Canadaguy, perhaps, we have expected too much for Federer. Since he has won 12 Grand Slams, we all hope that he couls win more this year to break the record made by Sampras. However, he has just won one so far this year. This made us a little disappointed.<< Yes that is true. When someone wins so many slams in such a short period of time we begin to expect too much of them. But his play compared to the average player on tour is still phenomenal. He still has a few more years to try to break Sampras' record of 14 slams. And let's not forget Sampras' 'dry years' just before her retired and his winning another slam in his 30's. >>Gustavo Kuerten was the former "king of the clay". He has won three titles of French Open (1997, 2000 and 2001). Unluckily, he was eliminated at the first round this time. But it is hard to find another except Nadal in current time.<< Yes, Kuerten was another great on the clay surface, that's for sure. It's funny, you were mentioning Sharapova and her grunting noises on court. I watched an old match of Kuerten playing Federer on YouTube a few days ago and I couldn't believe my ears. Kuerten was grunting so loudly all the time, it was quite annoying!
