Like Chris, I believe that people traveling and living in another country have a responsibility to at least make an honest effort to communicate with the people of the country they visit.

Performing sleight of hand magic has always helped me make friends when traveling, but actually being able to speak at least a bit demonstrates respect and appreciation.

While my American English skills are very good, I am finding Chinese very difficult to learn. I have many excuses, but in the final analysis there is studying hard and studying smart. Studying hard often proves to be hardly studying, but I am beginning to make slow progress again........[/quote]
