Today's immigrants are coming from the new wealthy middle upper class families of Asia and India and have more wealth, education and better chances of getting better employment and incomes in western society. These ones have higher expectations of foreign partners and seek to marry into educated western families.

Also bear in mind that English is a universal language and Asians and many Indians learn English from an early age, unlike us westerners who generally don't learn Asian or Indian languages. Thus these cultures from a broader cross section of their society, are more likely to travel to our countries than we are likely to travel to theirs. Thus we do get a broader representation of their cultures. On the other hand it's mostly educated people in our cultures that would so much as bother to visit places like India and other Asian countries. Except of course Bali, and Thailand where westerners thoroughly disgrace themselves.
