Yes, there 5 hostels which are officially affliated to the global IYH network. Water Town IYH: http://www.watertownhostel.com Mingtown Suzhou IYH: http://www.yhachina.com/ls.php?id=117 Joya IYH: http://www.joyahostel.com Minghantang IYH: http://www.mhthostel.com Tao Hua Woo IYH: http://www.taohuawoo.com What do you mean by "Hangzhou airport (Shanghai)"? I presume you're quoting the AirAsia website, and you're arriving at Hangzhou airport. Be aware that it's not in Shanghai, Hangzhou is a separate city on its own. There're direct buses from Hangzhou to Suzhou for 95 RMB/pax. If you're arriving at 1400 then you won't be in time to catch the 1400 departure, the next available one is at 1530. Yes, bus should be the best option for you.The Pudong airport -- Suzhou bus should stop somewhere on Jingde Lu. Your hotel is definitely not within walking distance, but getting a taxi there (have the hotel name and address in Chinese characters for everyone's benefit) should not be expensive. 1) Longyang Lu is far from being "downtown Shanghai". It's still quite in the boonies of Pudong. I believe the Maglev runs at a frequency of about 20 mins or so. 2) Longyang Lu is on line 2, you'll need to change at People's Square (be aware that this is longer than the NS-NE Line distance at Outram Park, and much more crowded!) to line 1. Alight at Shanghai main train station. Fare is 4 RMB and I would allow around 45 mins. Seriously though, if you wish to go to Shanghai main train station it would be far less hassle and overall cheaper to take airport shuttle no.5 from Pudong airport -- this should take no more than aound 75 mins. 3) If you get a D train, 26-31 mins. Also, if you're going to Suzhou, it would be easier to get the direct bus from Pudong airport (84 RMB/pax), departure times 1420, 1450, 1520 etc. You should 4) IMHO, too long. On my 1st visit to Suzhou I stayed 3 days and that was quite enough, saw most (if not all) of the major sights and more gardens than I cared for. Note that if you go to lots of gardens it's going to get pretty expensive, IMHO 3 would be the max unless you're a horticultualist, photographer, botanist etc. If you have so many days, why not go to other surrounding destinations as well?
