this is an update from my last post. I asked about my criminal record in my last post, I said that I was arrested in 2006 and I was on probation for 1 year. I went to the embassy today, and gave them my paper work for my visa. I printed out a 2 copy's of page 3. I think I screwed up a little though. I made an honest mistake and I hope it does not cost me my visa. for the question that ask if I have a criminal record in china or any other country, I had one copy that said yes and another that said no. when I got to the visa office today, I made my mind up and wanted to give them the one that said I was in trouble with the law. I think I might have gave them the wrong copy though, errr. I just hope that I did not screw up and they deny me my visa because I gave them the paper that said I was not in trouble with the law. I am hoping it does not matter since I also gave them a long detailed message about what happened when I was arrested, and then another real long paragraph about how I felt ashamed with what happened. I was completely honest about what happened to me, and about how I felt about it now. The lady looked over my paper work very fast, and skimmed through my letter I wrote. then she asked for my photo, and passport. then she skimmed over the letter again, and ask the lady behind her that was walking around something in Chinese. then the lady asked my if this happened to me and if I was telling the truth, I said yes. then she filled out the form and said I could pick up my visa on Friday October 4th. So I am hoping that everything goes well with my visa, and I can get my visa Friday like the lady said. I was not trying to hide anything, and I think being honest was the best choice since they do a finger print and sometimes do a background check. the background checks are random also BTW, so sometimes they do them and sometimes they do not. Does anyone know if this will be a problem when I go get my visa on Friday? If so can I say that I misunderstood the question, or say that I accidently marked the wrong box, since I really was being honest with them in my letter, and I was not hiding anything from them? Also someone said that on the plane you have to fill out another card or something, and that might be an issue, and since they gave me the paper that said I was approved, what should I write when I fill out this paper on the plane? I mean, if there is a paper you fill out on the plane. Does this mean that I will get my visa now, or can they still deny me when I go back to get my visa? I am now worried since I screw up errr. I hope this helps with anyone who is nerves about the same thing, I would just be honest with them, and tell them what happened, and if you really do feel bad about what you did, then tell them how you feel about it. This is a safer way to go about it I think, because if you lie, then they can deny you forever. then if you tell them the truth, you can always work out something later on, and might find a way to go.
