Thread: No private cars in the CBD tomorrow

Imagine my surprise when, after having planned day out shopping by car tomorrow, having been told that we cannot do it.  We can of course drive in other parts of the city but not in the Central Business District of Yuzhong  which is where the busy markets are located.

So we will go part way by car, take a taxi to and from the markets and then finish our shopping elsewhere by car.  It will certainly be interesting to see the difference in the traffic.

I drove around the CBD through some heavy traffic this afternoon so it will be interesting tomorrow to see what a difference it makes, if anything.

Which other cities besides Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou  and Chongqing will be conducting this little exercise.

One thing I notice is the number of cars with just one occupant!!!!

Not a good sign for a country with such a massive population.[/quote]
