Be aware of a Chinese tea scam--My husband and I were walking in People's Park where we were approached by two young women. They said they are new to Shanghai and are doing a study abroad in International Business...they were "lost" (using their Shanghai map) and looking for a tea party that they wondered if we had heard about it. After much polite conversation, we were asked if we wanted to to go with them. We even helped them find the location by their map! We agreed and shortly found out that we had been scammed by these nice young women during the process. The tea party consisted of learning about tea, drinking six different types. We realized we were scammed, and were able to bring it back on them saying that we were not paying for their portion of their "tea party" and not buying anything. The "tea party" room is located around Peoples Park in Shanghai. Beware! Them seem nice and friendly, only to want your time and money!!!
