The session opened on July 3 and will last until July 10. So far, the total number of Chinese properties inscribed on the World Heritage List has reached to 36. The Tulou buildings were unique residential architectures built from the 11th century to 20th century in the mountainous regions in Fujian Province. A Tutou building was usually made up of rammed earth outer wall and internal wooden framework.. The buildings aimed to meet the requirement of accommodate the people of a whole clan.
