Thread: In Guangzhou for 9 days - need ideas

This is where I need your guys help :) Do you have any suggestion on what to spend these roughly 9 days on? Perhaps some day trips outside the city? Things to check out in the city?

I haven't decided yet if I'm going to fly back home (Denmark) from Beijing or Hong Kong - so depending on this decision, I might come back to Guangzhou.

I actually have some further question regarding some other destinations in China, but I think I'll wait with these until I get the first part of my trip somewhat planned.

Update: 
I should probably include that I am interested in landscape/scenery as well as Chinese history and culture :) Also I plan to use this trip as an opportunity to become a better photographer (practice makes perfect).
