On the other hand, 54 officials will be punished due to the train crash, including the Liu Zhijun (former minister of Ministry of Railways) and Zhang Shuguang (vice chief engineer as well as the head of Transport Bureau). The report claims that Liu and Zhang were mainly responsible for the train crash. Right now, they both have been detained for a while because of graft and corruption investigation.

All 54 officials will receive Party and administrative penalties. Meanwhile, the judicial organs are investigating whether they committed crimes.
