[quote=GUESTJEFF,263679]Hello, I happened upon this site a month ago and found it very useful. Thanks to all that has posted. ROGERINCA could you please send me the link to the website for the support group for people waiting for k1 visas? Thanks so much. I met the love of my life using Skype on 10/03/06. I used Skype to chat with people all over the world. I became particularly interested in Chinese culture and the rest as they say is history. I filed the I129f petition on 10/11/07...received receipt notice I-797 on 11/08/07. We had a traditional wedding (wedding feast on Dec.9th) the last time I visited her. Visiting her again during the spring festival (Feb 8th). This will be our third visit. It is so hard to wait like this. These are things that I have done and would recommend to others to help pass the time and to learn all you can about Chinese culture: 1. Host a Chinese exchange student. He has become an invaluable source of information. From the things he has said I can see why college educated women from China have the desire to look outside the country to marry. Men think of themselves as "little Emperors". In my opinion avoid women born after 1980, they are likely to be just as bad. Pacific Intercultural Exchange (PIE) is the organization I used to host the student. They do an excellent job of screening the students. He is here for the 2007/2008 school year. 2. Use a service like Skype, Yahoo, or MSN to make friends and chat for free. People in China are the friendliest and they are just as curious about the US as we are about them. I hope for both of your sakes that if you are going to marry a Chinese woman that you love and respect thier culture. 3. Read as many books as you can find. "Fiance and Marriage Visas" useful if you do not use a service to do the application. "Romance on a Global Stage" a hard read but the later chapters are very very good. "April and the Dragon Lady" a true story written by a teen for teens but it is funny and it gives good insight on issues you may not have thought about. 4.
