TIPS FOR NEW CHINA VISA POLICY As we know, the new China visa policy was issued early last month. Since then it becomes more difficult for foreign friends to extend their visa in the cities in China. However, after this September 1st, the new China visa policy will be fully in effect, which will make it even more difficult for the great number of forieng friends in China ! After collecting much information and experience from our foreign friends to work on their China visa these days, I kindly share the below warm tips for our foreign friends. Hopefully it will be a little help for you all !! 1- Get Registered ! Do you remember the Important notice on the back side of the ARRIVAL CARD you filled while you arrived in China? Do you register in any local Policy Station or Policy Security Bureau (PSB)? The First Notice is: Aliens who do not lodge at hotels, guesthouses or inns shall, within 24 hours (72 hours in rural areas) of entry, go through accomodation registration at local police station. Many foreign friends told me that they did not do that because it seems no regularly checking about that even they stay a long time in China before. But, pls do it NOW! If you go to register in local Policy Station or Policy Security Bureau (PSB), you will get a registered or residence paper, which may help you with your China visa in the future! An true story to share: A Moroccan friend in Beijing, who went to Hong Kong to get China visa for a couple of times before but when he did that again last month in Hong Kong, he was told he could only get L visa 15 days. He contacted many people but could not help him get a longer visa. When he was very upset and almost ready to go back to Morocca, he asked a Chinese friend to call PSB Beijing for the last try. Because he has the residence paper the police gave him when he registered when he came back to Beijing from Hong Kong a few days ago, he was told with some financial proof from his Chinese bank account, he can extend his visa in Beijing for another 30 days, no need to suffer other troubles or go to Hong Kong! So, my dear friends, if you have an visa problem now or in a while, pls firstly Get Registered in your local Policy Station or Policy Security Bureau (PSB), meanwhile consult them for your visa status and extension! 2-Be aware of your China visa status and begin to consult about your visa extension or change at least ONE MONTH before it expires! For the foreign friends from some countries, there are services to help them get long term F or L visa muli entry with NO NEED to go to Hong Kong, but the time for process takes at least 20 working days and some days extra for preparing and sending the documentations. If you stay in Shenzhen, it is more convenient for you to go to Hong Kong. But if not, pls be more cautious because the trip is costly with flight tickets and hotel charges and etc.
